BARDIANI CSF FAIZANÈ: ECCO I 5 GIOVANI TALENTI SELEZIONATI PER IL GIRO D’ITALIA U23

Terminato da poche settimane il Giro D’Italia, per la Bardiani CSF Faizanè è tempo di concentrarsi sul Giro D’Italia U23. Sotto la guida del direttore sportivo Mirko Rossato, saranno al via Martin Marcellusi, Alessio Nieri, Alessandro Pinarello, Giulio Pellizzari e Iker Bonillo. Grande assente Alessio Martinelli, leader annunciato della formazione, a causa di una contrattura all'ultimo Giro dell'Appennino.

Dall’11 al 18 giugno andrà in scena il Giro D’Italia Under23. 7 tappe in 8 giorni per incoronare la maglia rosa Under23. 18 i team italiani al via, 17 quelli internazionali con una lista partenti di altissimo livello. L’edizione 2020 è stata conquistata da Thomas Pidcock, quella 2021 da Juan Ayuso. Nel 2022 ci saranno anche 5 atleti Under23 della Bardiani CSF Faizanè, con il nuovo progetto giovani, a contendersi la vittoria di tappa. La formazione avrebbe dovuto ambire anche alla lotta per la classifica generale con Alessio Martinelli, che sarà purtroppo uno dei grandi assenti di questo Giro. 

 

A guidare il team in ammiraglia Mirko Rossato, che in stagione ha seguito passo a passo i suoi giovani atleti, accompagnandoli anche in altura a Livigno nel mese di maggio per misurarne la loro crescita di condizione. La selezione emersa vedrà al via un mix tra giovani atleti (ben due al loro primo anno nella categoria Under) ed esperienza, oltre che atleti con differenti caratteristiche per essere competitivi in ogni frazione.

 

LE DICHIARAZIONI.

Queste le parole di Mirko Rossato, DS che sin dal primo training camp di gennaio, ha seguito da vicino i ragazzi del progetto giovani: "Purtroppo è impossibile non partire dal grande assente Alessio Martinelli. Si era preparato al meglio in altura e aveva colto risultati importanti sia tra gli Under, che tra i Pro con il 7° posto all'Appennino. Purtroppo proprio nel finale di quella gara come si è visto dalle immagini ha accusato un crampo, poi trasformatosi in contrattura. Ha provato a recuperare per tutta la settimana, ma non è riuscito e non sarà al via. Ci viene a mancare il nostro protagonista per la classifica generale, avrebbe potuto ambire alla top5 della generale. I nostri obiettivi di squadra inevitabilmente cambiano, avremo sicuramente un cacciatore di tappe come Martin Marcellusi, ma tutti i ragazzi lotteranno per il successo di tappa. Sopratutto per i tre debuttanti, Pinarello, Pellizzari e Bonillo, ma anche per Alessio Nieri, sarà un' importante occasione di crescita."

 

LA FORMAZIONE.

L’atleta “più esperto” al via sarà il romano Martin Marcellusi, classe 2000. Vincitore del Trofeo Piva 2022, 2° al GP Liberazione, 6° al recente Trofeo Città di Mendola. Per lui sarà la terza partecipazione al Giro D’Italia U23, l’occasione giusta per cercare il primo successo di tappa.

 

Con lui il classe 2001, lo scalatore toscano Alessio Nieri, alla sua seconda partecipazione al Giro giovani, proverà a migliorare il suo 7° posto di tappa colto ad Andalo nella scorsa edizione.

 

Completano la formazione tre debuttanti al Giro D’Italia Under23, si tratta dei tre  classe 2003 Alessandro Pinarello, Giulio Pellizzari ed Iker Bonillo. Il giovane atleta italiano ha già dimostrato ottime doti con buoni piazzamenti. 6° al Giro del Belvedere, come in una tappa della Carpathian Race, 10° al GP Industrie del Marmo, potrà continuare la sua graduale crescita al Giro D’Italia Under23. Con lui, seppur con caratteristiche diverse, anche lo spagnolo Iker Bonillo. Sprinter esplosivo, pluri-vittorioso nella categoria Juniores, è ora chiamato a misurarsi con i migliori nella categoria Under. Per lui nel 2022 un buon 6° posto al GP Megasaray. Completa la formazione il giovane italiano Giulio Pellizzari, 5° nella crono-scalata della Carpathian Race,  è chiamato a fare una prima importante esperienza fondamentale per il suo percorso di crescita.

BARDIANI CSF FAIZANÈ: THE 5 YOUNG TALENTS SELECTED FOR THE GIRO D'ITALIA U23.

After a few weeks the Giro D’Italia, it is time for Bardiani CSF Faizanè to focus on the U23 Giro D’Italia. Under the guidance of sports director Mirko Rossato, Martin Marcellusi, Alessio Nieri, Alessandro Pinarello, Giulio Pellizzari and Iker Bonillo will be at the start. Great absent Alessio Martinelli, announced leader of the formation, due to a contracture at the last Giro dell'Appennino.

The Giro d'Italia Under23 will be staged from 11 to 18 June. 7 stages in 8 days to crown the Under23 pink jersey. 18 Italian teams at the start, 17 international ones with a top-level starting list. The 2020 edition was won by Thomas Pidcock, the 2021 by Juan Ayuso. In 2022 there will also be 5 Under23 athletes of Bardiani CSF Faizanè, with the new youth project, to compete for the stage victory. The formation should have also aspired to the fight for the general classification with Alessio Martinelli, who will unfortunately be one of the great absentees of this Giro.

 

Leading the team in teamcar Mirko Rossato, who during the season followed his young athletes step by step, also accompanying them to Livigno in the month of May to measure their growth in condition. The selection that emerged will see at the start a mix between young athletes (two in their first year in the Under category) and experience, as well as athletes with different characteristics to be competitive in each fraction.

 

THE DECLARATIONS.

These are the words of Mirko Rossato, DS who, since the first training camp in January, has closely followed the youngsters of the youth project: "Unfortunately it is impossible not to start from the great absentee Alessio Martinelli. He was well prepared on the heights and had achieved results. important both among the Under, and among the Pros with the 7th place in the Apennines. Unfortunately in the final of that race as seen from the images he accused a cramp, which then turned into contracture. He tried to recover for the whole week, but he failed and will not be at the start. We miss our protagonist for the general ranking, he could have aspired to the top 5 of the overall. Our team goals inevitably change, we will certainly have a stage hunter like Martin Marcellusi, but all the boys will fight for the success of the stage. Especially for the three rookies, Pinarello, Pellizzari and Bonillo, but also for Alessio Nieri, it will be an important opportunity for growth."

 

LINE-UP:

The "most experienced" athlete at the start will be the Roman Martin Marcellusi, born in 2000. Winner of the Piva 2022 Trophy, 2nd at the GP Liberation, 6th at the recent Trofeo Città di Mendola. For him it will be his third participation in the U23 Giro d'Italia, the right opportunity to look for the first stage success.

 

With him in the 2001 class, the Tuscan climber Alessio Nieri, in his second participation in the Giro Giovani, will try to improve his 7th place in the stage taken in Andalo in the last edition.

 

The line-up is completed by three rookies in the Giro d'Italia Under23, the three in 2003 Alessandro Pinarello, Giulio Pellizzari and Iker Bonillo. The young Italian athlete has already shown excellent skills with good placings. 6th at the Giro del Belvedere, as in a stage of the Carpathian Race, 10th at the GP Industrie del Marmo, he will be able to continue his gradual growth at the Giro d'Italia Under23. With him, albeit with different characteristics, also the Spaniard Iker Bonillo. An explosive Sprinter, multiple victorious in the Juniores category, he is now called to compete with the best in the Under category. For him in 2022 a good 6th place at the Megasaray GP. The young Italian Giulio Pellizzari, 5th in the time trial of the Carpathian Race, completes the training and is called upon to make a first important experience, fundamental for his growth path.
