TOUR DE FRANCE – CIPOLLINI A RADIO 24: SAGAN SQUALIFICATO PERCHE’ UNICA STELLA DEL TOUR E AI FRANCESI NON VA BENE. SUBENTRATE ALTRE DINAMICHE SUPERIORI AL PROBLEMA DELLO SPRINT
“Il Tour de France, secondo me, ha colto l’occasione di apparire un superpartes incredibile, cioè dicendo ‘qui comandiamo noi, chiunque tu sia Sagan o chiunque altro’”.
Così Mario Cipollini, intervenuto a Tutti Convocati su Radio 24 in merito alla squalifica di Sagan per un comportamento scorretto avuto nella volata finale della quarta tappa del Tour de France. Cipollini poi aggiunge a Radio 24: “Credo che in questa scelta Sagan paghi anche, in parte, il fatto di essere l’unica vera stella di questo Tour de France e fondamentalmente ai francesi, che ci sia un individuo che sia superiore al Tour stesso, non va bene. Lo dimostra anche il fatto che Mario Cipollini e Marco Pantani venivano lasciati a casa, perché in quel momento Cipollini nelle volate e Pantani nelle salite erano il tema più importante del Tour de France”.
Cipollini a Tutti convocati su Radio 24 chiarisce poi: “Per di più non conosociamo le relazioni tra l’Unione Ciclistica Internazionale e il Tour de France, perché credo che l’Uci difenda il proprio beniamino, la maglia di campione del mondo ha il simbolo Uci sulla maglia, per cui naturalmente l’Uci non gode a vedere mandare fuori dalla corsa più importante uno degli illustri comunicatori di questo sport nel mondo, per cui credo che siano subentrate delle dinamiche superiori al problema stesso dello sprint”

Protest to Result of Stage 4 of the Tour de France 2017.
The UCI World Champion Peter Sagan was disqualified today, according to article 12.1.040/ 10.2.2. (irregular sprint) in the result/communiqué. The team disagrees with the decision and protested it officially.
Peter Sagan rejected to have caused, or in any way intended to cause the crash of Mark Cavendish on the final 200m of the stage. Peter stayed on his line in the sprint and could not see Cavendish on the right side.
The team applied for a redress of Peter Sagan's result in stage 4.
“In the sprint I didn’t know that Mark Cavendish was behind me. He was coming from the right side, and I was trying to go on Kristoff’s wheel. Mark was coming really fast from the back and I just didn’t have time to react and to go left. He came into me and he went into the fence. When I was told after the finish that Mark had crashed, I went straight away to find out how he was doing. We are friends and colleagues in the peloton and crashes like that are never nice.
