Tour de France #2: Team Dimension Data 14th in TTT

Team Jumbo-Visma made it 2 stages out of 2, by winning today's team time trial at the Tour de France. Team Ineos was 2nd and Deceuninck-Quickstep finished in 3rd place.

The stage 2 TTT was run over 27.6km in Brussels and it was a fast course with the top teams averaging around 57km/h for the entire route. The big GC teams were under pressure to not lose major time to any of their key rivals which made for an exciting race at the top of the leader board.

Ineos, being the first team off, held the hot seat from early on. Quickstep came close to taking the lead, within 1 second of the British team, but in the end, it was the final team to finish that would dislodge Ineos, Team Jumbo-Visma.

Team Dimension Data for Qhubeka, not expected to challenge for the top placings today, put together a fair performance to finish in 14th out of the 22 teams, 54 seconds behind the winners.

It was 30 minutes of hell out there but actually, I think it went really well for us. We haven't done much focused TTT training together as a group but we had a plan today and we executed that plan well." - Michael Valgren

After taking the yellow jersey yesterday, and Team Jumbo-Visma winning today, Mike Teunissen retained the yellow jersey heading into tomorrow's stage 3.
