Sublime sprint sees success for Team Sunweb with Lorena Wiebes in De Panne

Team Sunweb continued their 2020 winning run today, with their Women's program tasting sweet success at AG Driedaagse Brugge-De Panne where Lorena Wiebes stormed home to victory.

On a predominantly flat parcours, Team Sunweb played the race perfectly, splitting the race to pieces in the crosswinds and taking control of the peloton. With five riders in the reduced front group, the onus was on them to close down attacks which they duly did, with the aim of setting up the fast Wiebes for the finish. Coming into the final straight Wiebes produced her trademark powerful kick, charging across the line to take the win after d'Hoore was relegated by the jury; a great reward for the team's brilliant efforts throughout the race.
