Today Gazprom-RusVelo rider Simone Velasco claimed a victory at the French stage-race Tour du Limousin. 

"I am very happy to win. It was certainly my day. We did a great job as a team and I was in good shape and attacked successfully. Without my teammates it wouldn’t be possible, they did a great job. I would also like to thank our sponsor and all the members of the team for their work" — Simone Velasco after finishing the stage.

The team Sports Director Alexander Serov commented on the victory of Simone Velasco: “Today was a tough stage. We managed to demonstrate good teamwork and caught the breakaway group at the right moment, then Simone fought with eight contenders and tried to attack early with 20 kilometers to go, but his other attack with the three kilometers till the finish was decisive. Well done, it was the right decision to attack and not wait until the final meters, he was brave and also earned bonus points and moved up in the general classification”.
