Q36.5 Pro Cycling Team is delighted to announce the contract extension of Gianluca Brambilla, one of the team’s most experienced riders. The 35-year-old Italian has resigned for one more year, solidifying his commitment to the team through 2024.

Gianluca Brambilla has been an integral part of the Q36.5 Pro Cycling Team from day one. His exceptional skills and unwavering dedication have proven him to be an indispensable asset to the team's success during its maiden season. Brambilla's consistency and leadership have made a significant impact on the team's achievements thus far and he has demonstrated himself to be a highly skilled road captain, at both the classics and stage races.

With almost 13 years as a professional, the experienced Italian expressed his enthusiasm about the contract extension, stating, "I’m really happy and honored to renew with the team and to stay with this great group of people and teammates. My ambitions for the future remain the same: to win races. Whether it’s me crossing the finish line first or one of my teammates, that’s the main goal. In Vuelta a Asturias, for example, I was really happy to help Damo (Damian Howson) to win a stage there and I’m proud to help the young guys like Walter (Calzoni) as a sort of a mentor. I believe they are the future for our team, and it gives me great satisfaction to be able to help with my experience.”

As a seasoned rider, Brambilla has a decorated career with numerous notable achievements, including stage wins at the Giro d’Italia and Vuelta a España as well as several GC victories. His expertise in different terrains and his ability to support the team in various race scenarios make him a valuable mentor for the neo pros and younger talent. Nevertheless, Brambilla is still motivated to seek personal glory whenever the opportunity presents itself.

“Personally, I want to be able to continue to be in good shape, race competitively and fight for good results. That is my main goal, but at the same time I’m very excited to be able to pass on my expertise to the younger riders we have on the team. The team's spirit and professionalism have impressed me from day one, and I’m happy to contribute further to our collective goals. Together, we will strive for more victories and breakthroughs. I want to thank Doug (Ryder) for his confidence, and I can’t wait to get back to racing. The crash in Tour de Suisse was the biggest setback I had this season but fortunately I’m back on my bike and ready to race for nice results in the second part of this year and in the seasons ahead,” concluded Brambilla

Q36.5 Pro Cycling Team is confident that Brambilla's extension will boost the team's prospects in the upcoming races and strengthen their position in the peloton. This contract renewal represents a shared commitment to success and reflects the team's dedication to nurturing talent and creating a cohesive unit on and off the saddle.

"We are thrilled to extend Gianluca Brambilla's contract with our team," said General Manager Doug Ryder. "His experience and talent have been instrumental in guiding and motivating our younger riders, setting a benchmark for excellence within the team. We have full confidence that his presence will continue to elevate our performance on the road beyond 2023. We believe in Gianluca's abilities and leadership on the road and with his contract extension, we are building a robust foundation for the future, ensuring continuity and stability for our team's growth."

Gianluca Brambilla has six victories in his palmarès and over the years has raced a total of 16 Grand Tours. He is the second rider to extend with Q36.5 Pro Cycling Team after countryman Walter Calzoni penned a two-year extension back in April.
