Nico Denz sprints to his first victory for Team Sunweb at Tour of Slovakia
After close calls on the opening day of racing at the Tour of Slovakia, Nico Denz sprints to his first victory for Team Sunweb in the streets of Banská Bystrica.

With an exceptionally undulating parcours featuring no less than ten categorised climbs, it was tough to call the outcome of stage two of the Tour of Slovakia. After picking up bonus seconds at the first intermediate sprint of the day pipping compatriot Jannik Steimle to the line, Denz edged closer to the overall lead of the race. Little did they know that the sprint in Považská Bystrica was a sign of things to come. Following a flurry of attacks over the last climb, including moves instigated by Thymen Arensman and Robert Power, the race was set to be decided by a reduced bunch sprint. Just as he did a few hours previously, Denz beat Steimle to the line, taking his second pro victory and his first in Team Sunweb colours.
