MIKEL LANDA KEEPS 3RD PLACE AT TIRRENO-ADRIATICO |
Lido di Fermo, 15th March – On the penultimate stage Mikel Landa keeps 3rd place in General Classification. |
After a few challenging stages at the Tirreno Adriatico race, riders were quite relaxed to start the 6th stage in Castelraimondo.
The first part was wavy, then the route levels and eventually takes an uncomplicated closing circuit with one large lap and four small laps. The race was fast, and the peloton controlled the breakaway. When the race seemed to be under control and soon to cross the finish line some 20 kilometers to go suddenly, our best rider Mikel Landa had a mechanical problem, as the bump in the road caused the chain to come off.
Mikel and his teammates solved the situation immediately, changed the bikes, continued to chase the peloton, and with the massive effort of the teammates, they succeeded in catching the peloton and kept 3rd place in General Classification.
