IVAN GARCIA CORTINA 2ND ON 2ND STAGE OF TOUR POITOU-CHARENTES.
Echiré (France) – Friday 28th August – Another day for sprinters on the four-day race affected by strong and Atlantic winds. Team Bahrain McLaren rider Ivan Garcia Cortina felt stronger today after his busy racing schedule in the past days and his teammates brought him in a good final position where again Demare was a bit stronger and Ivan finished right after him.
After 186,3 km, in the finish, Ivan commented the race: “After a good recovery I felt good today and I was strong during the whole day. In the end, my teammates Grega Bole and Heinrich Haussler did a really good job for me and they put me in a good position for the last corner but then I was on the outside side of the road and Demare was too strong and I finished behind him. I am happy for the 2nd place but I want more”.
