GREEN PROJECT BARDIANI-CSF FAIZANÈ: SECONDA FRAZIONE DEL GIRO DI SICILIA. 4° POSTO PER FILIPPO FIORELLI

Il corridore siciliano della Green Project Bardiani-CSF Faizanè sfiora il podio nella seconda tappa designata per i velocisti, da Canicattì a Vittoria. 12° Martin Marcellusi

Termina la seconda tappa del Giro di Sicilia da Canicattì a Vittoria, 193km complessivi, corsa contraddistinta da una fuga di 9 corridori a 30km dal via. Il percorso movimentato non ha impedito al gruppo di recuperare gradualmente lo svantaggio e di riprendere il drappello a 6km dalla conclusione per imbastire la volata. Buon lavoro dei corridori del #greenteam nel tenere coperto Filippo Fiorelli in previsione dell'arrivo in volata, il corridore siciliano della Green Project Bardiani-CSF Faizanè arriverà 4°, la vittoria di tappa a Niccolò Bonifazio della Intermarchè Circus Gobert. 12° Martin Marcellusi.

Le dichiarazioni di Filippo Fiorelli:"È stato un peccato perché avevo la squadra a disposizione e abbiamo lavorato in modo perfetto, soprattutto nelle fasi finali, dove i miei compagni hanno imbastito la volata, prima con Zoccarato, Tonelli e Gabburo e poi a 2km dalla fine con Marcellusi e Magli. Sono partito in anticipo allo sprint sapendo di avere il vento a favore ma a 200m dalla conclusione ho avuto un piccolo sbandamento e ho smesso di pedalare, perdendo l'occasione di agganciare i corridori davanti a me, non puntavo alla vittoria ma almeno al podio, c'è un po' di rammarico ma pensiamo alle prossime tappe".

GREEN PROJECT BARDIANI-CSF FAIZANÈ: SECOND STAGE OF THE GIRO DI SICILIA. 4TH PLACE FOR FILIPPO FIORELLI

The Sicilian rider of Green Project Bardiani-CSF Faizanè came close to a podium finish in the 2nd stage designated for sprinters, from Canicattì to Vittoria.

The second stage of the Giro di Sicilia from Canicattì to Vittoria, 193km in total, comes to an end. The race began with a breakaway of nine riders with 30km to go. The eventful route did not prevent the group from gradually recovering the disadvantage and rejoining the peloton with 6km to go to set up the sprint. Good work by the #greenteam riders to keep Filippo Fiorelli covered in anticipation of the sprint finish, the Sicilian rider of Green Project Bardiani-CSF Faizanè finished 4th, stage victory to Niccolò Bonifazio of Intermarchè Circus Gobert. Martin Marcellusi finished 12th.

Filippo Fiorelli's comments: "It was a pity because I had the team at my disposal and we worked perfectly, especially in the final stages, where my teammates set up the sprint, first with Zoccarato, Tonelli and Gabburo and then at 2km from the end with Marcellusi and Magli. I started early in the sprint knowing that I had the wind in my favour, but 200m from the end I had a small skid and I lost the opportunity to engage the riders in front of me, I was not aiming for victory but at least for the podium, there is some regret but let's think about the next stages".
