Trek-Segafredo is excited to announce they have come to an agreement with Danish allrounder Alexander Kamp for the next two years. Kamp, 25, currently rides for the Danish UCI Professional Continental team Riwal Readynez. He claimed the most significant victory of his career in stage 3 of the 2019 Tour de Yorkshire while also securing 4th place overall.
Luca Guercilena, General Manager Trek-Segafredo: "It has been a while that we've been closely following Alexander. He's a strong and fast and very versatile rider and this year he has made a clear step in winning a stage in Yorkshire, securing the GC in the Circuit des Ardennes International, and winning the points classification in the Settimana Internazionale Coppi e Bartali. He has definitely earned a chance to prove his worth on the WorldTour level, and we are pleased to welcome him into the team."
Kamp: "I am happy to join one of the biggest teams in the world. I know Mads Pedersen quite well, and he told me the team is really well organized; he had lots of positive things to say about the team. I had some good talks with Luca (Guercilena) and (director) Kim Andersen, and I am really looking forward to collaborating with all these people. Trek-Segafredo has both a strong Classics and Grand Tour squad, and for me, I hope to be able to fit into both, so Trek-Segafredo is really the best team I could join. I know I will learn a lot from some of the more experienced guys of the team and I am ready to give my all.
"I am looking forward to this big opportunity and to get to know all these new people, both riders and staff, in the first training camps. I am really grateful for this chance at the WorldTour."
