Cesenatico, 21 September 2019 - Sonny closes in fifth place a hard-fought and some regretful Marco Pantani . The Kazakh Alexei Lutsenko won the sprint after resuming with 1km to go the three riders who were in the day's breakaway.

"We arrived 8 seconds behind the attackers - explains Sonny Colbrelli - but then in the group there was no more collaboration and in the end they preceded us for a few seconds. Without a doubt I could have made a better result but the good news that the condition is growing and I’m ready for the last races of the season”.

Also SD Franco Pellizotti is not very satisfied about the last part of the race: “the team worked well all day and even in the finale we were still 5 in the first group. When it seemed that the race could re-open, some teams stopped collaborating and there was nothing to do”.
