BARDIANI CSF FAIZANÈ: TERZO POSTO DI FILIPPO FIORELLI AL GIRO DI SICILIA.

Terzo posto di Filippo Fiorelli nella prima tappa del Giro di Sicilia. Dopo l’ottimo lavoro di tutta la squadra per chiudere sulla fuga, l’atleta siciliano della Bardiani CSF Faizanè prova a fare suo lo sprint di Bagheria, con l’arrivo posizionato a pochi km da casa sua. Buona progressione in rimonta che lo porta al terzo posto alle spalle di Matteo Malucelli (Italia) e Matteo Moschetti (Trek-Segafredo).

Terzo posto per Filippo Fiorelli nella prima tappa del Giro di Sicilia. 

Nell’unica frazione destinata alle ruote veloci, con l’arrivo di Bagheria posizionato a pochissimi km da casa, le motivazioni di Filippo Fiorelli erano molto alte. Proprio per questo il team Bardiani CSF Faizanè ha lavorato compatto rimanendo al fianco dell’atleta siciliano durante la tappa e contribuendo al lavoro del gruppo per chiudere sui fuggitivi di giornata.

Buono lo spunto finale di Filippo Fiorelli nel rettilineo conclusivo nel quale rimonta fino alla terza posizione non riuscendo tuttavia a insidiare Matteo Malucelli (Italia) per il successo finale. Un podio comunque importante che rappresenta ad oggi il miglior piazzamento stagionale dell’atleta siciliano e un buon inizio in questo Giro di Sicilia per la Bardiani CSF Faizanè. 

Queste le parole di Filippo Fiorelli dopo il traguardo:

"Oggi la squadra ha lavorato bene, siamo rimasti sempre davanti, ho visto una squadra molto compatta e non nascondo che eravamo partiti per provare a raccogliere il risultato pieno. Non è arrivato quello che ci aspettavamo, ma comunque un terzo posto che fa ben sperare perché sto iniziando ad avere buone sensazioni anche in vista del Giro d'Italia. Volevo regalare la mia prima vittoria stagionale a me, alla squadra, ma sopratutto a tutti gli amici e parenti che anche sulla strada mi hanno travolto di affetto. Ci riproveremo ancora, magari già nella terza tappa di questo Giro di Sicilia. Oggi sentivo davvero tantissimo la corsa, le prossime tappe, anche se pur sempre in Sicilia, saranno più lontano da casa e ritroverò sicuramente più tranquillità e serenità mentale nell'affrontarle."

Oggi infine si è svolta anche la terza frazione del Tour of Turkey, con l’arrivo in volata vinto da Jasper Philipsen (Alpecin) e il 19° posto di Enrico Zanoncello, per la Bardiani CSF Faizanè.

Domani triplice appuntamento per la Bardiani CSF Faizanè che sarà impegnata al via del Tour of Turkey, con la tappa regina, al via del Giro di Sicilia e infine alla Fleche Brabanconne. Tutti gli appuntamenti saranno trasmessi live su Eurosport.

BARDIANI CSF FAIZANÈ: THIRD PLACE OF FILIPPO FIORELLI IN THE FIRST STAGE OF GIRO DI SICILIA.

Third place for Filippo Fiorelli in the first stage of the Giro di Sicilia. After the excellent work of the whole team to close on the breakaway, the Sicilian rider of Bardiani CSF Faizanè tries to make the Bagheria sprint his own, with the finish-line positioned a few kilometers from his home. Good comeback progression that brings him the third place behind Matteo Malucelli (Italy) and Matteo Moschetti (Trek-Segafredo).

In the only stage designed for fast wheels, with the finish-line in Bagheria positioned just a few kilometers from home, Filippo Fiorelli's motivations were very high. Precisely for this reason the Bardiani CSF Faizanè team worked compactly, remaining together with the Sicilian rider during the whole stage and contributing to the work of the group to close on the breakway of the day.

Good position in the final for Filippo Fiorelli and good final progression in which he comes back up to the third position, however not managing to overtake Matteo Malucelli (Italy) for the final success. However, an important podium that represents the best seasonal result of the Sicilian rider, since today, and a good start in this Giro di Sicilia for Bardiani CSF Faizanè.

These are the words of Filippo Fiorelli after the finish-line:

"Today the team made a great job, we were always in front, today I saw a very compact team and I do not hide the fact that we started to try to collect the full result. What we expected did not arrive, but a third place give us motivation. I'm starting to have good feelings also in view of the Giro d'Italia. I wanted to reach my first victory of the season for me, for the team, but above all for all the friends and relatives who overwhelmed me with affection even on the road. We will try again for sure, maybe already in the third stage of this Giro di Sicilia. Today I really felt the race very much, the next stages, even if still in Sicily, will be far away from home and I will certainly find more tranquility and mental serenity in facing them. "

Finally, the third stage of the Tour of Turkey also took place today, with the sprint finish won by Jasper Philipsen (Alpecin) and Enrico Zanoncello's 19th place, for Bardiani CSF Faizanè.

Tomorrow triple appointment for Bardiani CSF Faizanè which will be engaged at the start of the Tour of Turkey, with the queen stage, at the start of the Giro di Sicilia and finally at the Fleche Brabanconne. All events will be broadcast live on Eurosport
