BARDIANI CSF FAIZANÈ: FILIPPO FIORELLI TERZO DI TAPPA E NUOVA MAGLIA A PUNTI DEL GIRO DI SICILIA.

Ancora un podio di tappa per Filippo Fiorelli, 3° nella frazione odierna del Giro di Sicilia. Un piazzamento che insieme al terzo posto della prima tappa e all’ottavo della seconda frazione gli vale la leadership nelle classifica della maglia a punti. Buona giornata anche in Turchia dove Sacha Modolo conquista il 9° posto di giornata nella quinta tappa del Tour of Turkey.

Filippo Fiorelli è la nuova maglia a punti del Giro di Sicilia.

Ancora un podio di tappa per l’atleta siciliano della Bardiani CSF Faizanè, che con il terzo posto odierno, che si aggiunge al podio della prima tappa e all’ottavo posto della seconda, conquista la maglia a punti del Giro di Sicilia.

 

Al Giro di Sicilia tappa di 171 km da Realmonte a Piazza Armerina, con un percorso mosso e una fuga inizialmente composta da 6 uomini che ha preso il largo raggiungendo un vantaggio importante che ha costretto il gruppo a una lunga rincorsa condotta da svariate squadre tra cui anche la Bardiani CSF Faizanè. Ai meno 10 km la strada inizia a salire con vento laterale e i cambio di ritmo fa esplodere il gruppo in più tronconi. All’inseguimento di Fran Miholjevic che nel frattempo ha staccato i compagni di fuga, rimangono una ventina di uomini, i migliori in classifica generale, tra cui Filippo Fiorelli.

Vince dalla fuga Fran Miholjevic, che sarà anche il nuovo leader della classifica generale, alle sue spalle volata ristretta dei migliori dove Filippo Fiorelli si piazza secondo, conquistando così la terza piazza di giornata, mantenendo il quarto posto in classifica generale e conquistando la maglia a punti, come meritato frutto della grande costanza dimostrata in queste prime tre tappe.

 

Queste le parole di Filippo Fiorelli dopo il traguardo: “Oggi la squadra ha fatto un ottimo lavoro, per provare a chiudere sulla fuga, perché volevamo trovare il risultato pieno, ma il vantaggio dei fuggitivi era molto ampio e non abbiamo sempre trovato collaborazione dietro. Salire sul podio per una maglia non è come farlo per una vittoria per questo ho un pò di rammarico, ma è stato comunque perché c'erano tutti i miei parenti, e molti amici ed è stato molto emozionante. Così come una grandissima emozione e una cosa inaspettata è stata sentire acclamare il mio nome mentre ero sul palco. Devo ringraziare tutti coloro che mi hanno sostenuto sulle strade sin dalla prima tappa. Questa maglia è per me un nuovo punto di inizio, spero che questa condizione continui a salire per fare qualcosa di buono e davvero importante al Giro d'Italia."

TOUR OF TURKEY - 9° SACHA MODOLO

Buona giornata anche in Turchia per la Bardiani CSF Faizanè con il 9° posto di Sacha Modolo, che nonostante sia rimasto ostacolato agli ultimi 200 metri da una pericolosa sbandata da due atleti proprio davanti a lui, riesce a conquistare una buona top10.  In una tappa di 186km disegnata per un finale allo sprint è davvero ottimo il lavoro del team che porta il proprio velocista Sacha Modolo in ottima posizione a giocarsi le sue chance negli ultimi 400 metri. Buona la progressione dell’atleta Veneto che avrebbe potuto chiudere anche in migliore posizione senza lo sfortunato evento nel finale.

These are the words of Filippo Fiorelli after the finish line: “Today the team did a great job, to try to close on the breakaway, because we wanted to find the full result, but the advantage of the breakaway was very large and we have not always found collaboration behind. Getting on the podium for a jersey is not like doing it for a victory for this I have a bit of regret, but it was anyway because all my relatives were there, and many friends and it was very emotional. As well as a great thrill and an unexpected thing it was to hear my name being acclaimed while I was on stage. I have to thank all those who have supported me on the roads since the first stage. This jersey is a new starting point for me, I hope this condition continues to rise to do something good and really important in the Giro d'Italia. "

TOUR OF TURKEY - TOP10 FOR SACHA MODOLO

Good day also in Turkey for Bardiani CSF Faizanè with the 9th place of Sacha Modolo, who despite the opposition 200 meters before the finishi-line due to a dangerous skid from De Kleijn and Sam Bennet right in front of him, manages to conquer a nice top10.
