Alpecin-Deceuninck launches new #MerciPoupou shirt and charity campaign

Continuing its tribute to Raymond Poulidor during stage 9 of the Tour de France, Alpecin-Deceuninck is launching a new version of the #MerciPoupou shirt on the rest day.

This shirt is inspired by the iconic purple-and-yellow shirt of Mercier (Poulidor's former team) that was worn by MVDP and his teammates at the 2021 Tour start.

All the proceeds from the sale were donated to 5 institutions, associations or non- profit organizations that enable children, adolescents, and persons with disabilities to engage in movement, in the widest sense. Each organization received a check for €10,000.

The 2023 version of the shirt will serve the same purposes: a tribute to Poulidor, his connection with the public and the love of cycling passed down from generation to generation.

The outfits worn Sunday by the eight Alpecin-Deceuninck riders will be auctioned, as will the new MerciPoupou shirts worn during the coffee ride on this rest day. Also part of the auction are the Oakley MVDP Signature Series - glasses that were worn on Sunday.

In addition, the cycling jersey and a limited-edition T-shirt will be offered for sale to fans. All proceeds from these auctions will again go to various charities and organizations, aimed to help children, adolescents, and persons with disabilities from different backgrounds and living conditions to practice sports, experience movement and develop joy in being active. Charities will be announced after the auction and sale period ends.
