BUONGIORNO DA SANTA FIORA, OGGI TERZA TAPPA DEL GIRO ROSA
Dopo lo straordinario show di ieri di Annemiek Van Vleuten che, ad Arcidosso, ha strapazzato le avversarie, il Giro Rosa riparte stamani con una classifica generale ridisegnata e una frazione che promette altrettanto spettacolo. Annemiek Van Vleuten veste infatti la maglia rosa di leader della classifica con un vantaggio di 1'18'' su Anna Van Der Breggen e di 1'33' su Katarzyna Niewiadoma. Oggi potrebbe essere l'occasione adatta per le avversarie per recuperare tempo prezioso anche se il dominio della campionessa del mondo in carica sembra inscalfibile. In programma una frazione di 142.2 chilometri con partenza da Santa Fiora e arrivo ad Assisi. Nessuna pace per le atlete. La terza frazione sarà caratterizzata da continui saliscendi che traghetteranno la corsa verso Assisi. Al cinquantesimo chilometro il primo Gran Premio della Montagna a San Casciano dei bagni, terza categoria. Da quel momento il tracciato sembra addolcirsi: è un’illusione. Il finale è tutto all’insù verso Assisi dove è posto un Gpm di prima categoria.
SANTA FIORA
Comune italiano facente parte dei borghi più belli d’Italia. Il suo territorio spazia da scenari prettamente collinari a sprazzi montuosi. Dal 2015, inoltre, Santa Fiora ha ottenuto, per le sue note qualità turistiche, la Bandiera Arancione del Touring Club italiano. La natura è rigogliosa a Santa Fiora: la Riserva naturale provinciale della Santissima Trinità, ospitante il convento della Trinità alla Selva, si estende per 38 ettari sul versante ovest del Monte Calvo. Santa Fiora dispone, inoltre, di una sede museale facente parte della rete provinciale Musei di Maremma.
ASSISI
Il Giro Rosa arriva in Umbria, in provincia di Perugia. Assisi, situata sul versante nord-occidentale del monte Subasio, è la città in cui vissero e morirono San Francesco e Santa Chiara. A partire dal 2000, la città di Assisi con la quasi totalità del territorio comunale, è stata inserita fra i Patrimoni Mondiali dell’UNESCO. Innumerevoli le chiese e gli edifici sacri presenti sul territorio: Cattedrale di San Rufino, Chiesa di Santa Maria Maggiore, Chiesa di San Pietro e Oratorio dei Pellegrini, fra le altre. Una menzione speciale la meritano la Basilica di San Francesco d’Assisi e la Basilica di Santa Chiara. La prima è suddivisa in una parte inferiore, dove sono custodite le spoglie del santo, ed in una superiore: nel 1754 venne elevata a Basilica patriarcale e Cappella papale da Benedetto XIV. La Basilica di Santa Chiara è realizzata in stile gotico e, nella facciata, ricorda molto la quasi contemporanea Basilica Superiore di San Francesco d’Assisi. Tra gli eventi principali che si tengono in città ricordiamo la ‘’Marcia per la pace Perugia-Assisi.

SANTA FIORA
Italian town that is part of the most beautiful villages in Italy. Its territory ranges from purely hilly scenarios to mountainous flashes. Moreover, since 2015, Santa Fiora has obtained, for its well-known tourist qualities, the Orange Flag of the Italian Touring Club. Nature is luxuriant in Santa Fiora: the Provincial Nature Reserve of the Holy Trinity, hosting the convent of the Trinità alla Selva, extends for 38 hectares on the west side of Monte Calvo. Santa Fiora also has a museum that is part of the provincial network of Maremma Museums.
ASSISI
The Giro Rosa arrives in Umbria, in the province of Perugia. Assisi, located on the north-western side of Mount Subasio, is the city where San Francesco and Santa Chiara lived and died. Since 2000, the city of Assisi with almost all of the municipal territory has been included among the UNESCO World Heritage Sites. There are countless churches and sacred buildings in the area: Cathedral of San Rufino, Church of Santa Maria Maggiore, Church of San Pietro and Oratorio dei Pellegrini, among others. A special mention goes to the Basilica of San Francesco d’Assisi and the Basilica of Santa Chiara. The first is divided into a lower part, where the remains of the saint are kept, and an upper part: in 1754 it was elevated to the patriarchal basilica and papal chapel by Benedetto XIV. The Basilica of Santa Chiara is built in the Gothic style and, on the facade, is very reminiscent of the almost contemporary Upper Basilica of San Francesco d’Assisi. Among the main events held in the city we remember the 'March for Peace Perugia-Assisi.
