ELISA LONGO BORGHINI VINCE A SAN MARCO LA CATOLA, VAN DER BREGGEN NUOVA MAGLIA ROSA

Elisa Longo Borghini, con un'azione magistrale, ha vinto l'ottava tappa del Giro Rosa 2020, il Giro della ripartenza. Erano diversi giorni che Longo Borghini provava ad attaccare, dimostrando di avere una condizione invidiabile, oggi ha concretizzato al meglio la sua azione, iniziata ai tre chilometri dal traguardo. Sulla dura salita di San Marco la Catola, Elisa Longo Borghini ha superato brillantemente la campionessa olandese Anna Van Der Breggen e Mikayla Harvey, giunta terza all'arrivo dimostrando di meritare pienamente la maglia bianca di miglior giovane. Katarzyna Niewiadoma, che questa mattina era in maglia rosa dopo il ritiro di Annemiek Van Vleuten, è giunta al traguardo con un ritardo di 1'20'' sulla vincitrice di tappa; la nuova maglia rosa del Giro è quindi Anna Van Der Breggen. 

La tappa, 91.5 chilometri in totale, ha vissuto dell'attacco di nove atlete che hanno provato a fuggire alla stretta del gruppo, quando il traguardo era ancora lontano, dopo vari tentativi. Parliamo di Lucy Kennedy, Katia Ragusa, Amy Pieters, Pauliena Rooijakkers, Jelena Eric, Coryn Rivera, Ruth Winder, Lisa Brennauer e Maria Novolodskaya, all'attacco per il terzo giorno consecutivo. Ci si gioca il Giro, sono le due tappe conclusive ed il gruppo non può permettersi distrazioni. Nei chilometri conclusivi le attaccanti vengono riprese e le donne di classifica vanno a giocarsi la tappa. 

Elizabeth Deignan fa un lavoro egregio scremando il gruppo ed Elisa Longo Borghini marca stretta Anna Van Der Breggen quando scatta nel finale per mettere in difficoltà Katarzyna Niewiadoma. L'olandese riesce a centrare il traguardo maglia rosa, non la vittoria di tappa. La volata a due premia Elisa longo Borghini che torna sul podio esattamente una settimana dopo la conquista della maglia rosa nella cronometro a squadre di Grosseto. Ora Longo Borghini è terza in classifica generale. La classifica generale è ancora molto incerta ed un percorso incerto come quello di domani potrebbe davvero regalare grosse sorprese.

ENGLISH VERSION - ELISA LONGO BORGHINI WINS IN SAN MARCO LA CATOLA, VAN DER BREGGEN NEW PINK JERSEY

Elisa Longo Borghini, with a masterful action, won the eighth stage of the Giro Rosa 2020, the Giro of restart. It had been several days that Longo Borghini had been trying to attack, proving to have an enviable condition, today he made the most of his action, which began three kilometers from the finish. The two-man sprint rewards Elisa longo Borghini who returns to the podium exactly one week after winning the pink jersey in the team time trial in Grosseto. Now Longo Borghini is third in the general classification. The general classification is still very uncertain and an uncertain path like that of tomorrow could really give big surprises.
