              COLNAGO NUOVO SPONSOR DI MAGLIA DEL GIRO ROSA

La storia del ciclismo entra nella famiglia del Giro d'Italia Internazionale Femminile. L'azienda diretta da Ernesto Colnago diventa lo sponsor ufficiale della Maglia Rosa e della Maglia Bianca della gara a tappe più prestigiosa e importante al mondo, che negli ultimi anni ha visto vincitrici di livello assoluto come l'italiana Fabiana Luperini, la statunitense Mara Abbott e le olandesi Marianne Vos e Anna Van der Breggen. L'ufficializzazione è arrivata nella giornata di venerdì, quando è stato sottoscritto il contratto triennale di sponsorizzazione presso la sede aziendale di Cambiago (Milano) firmato dal direttore del Giro Rosa Giuseppe Rivolta e dal titolare Ernesto Colnago. La soddisfazione è tutta nelle parole di Giuseppe Rivolta: “Avere Colnago nella nostra famiglia è un vero onore. E' la storia del ciclismo italiano nel mondo, un marchio riconosciuto ed apprezzato ovunque per la qualità dei suoi prodotti e per i successi sportivi ottenuti negli ultimi sessant'anni. La sua presenza ufficiale come sponsor di maglia darà ancora più splendore al Giro Rosa in tutto il mondo”.

Colnago è un marchio storico del ciclismo italiano e internazionale: nato nel 1952 e sito per la prima volta in Via Garibaldi, 10 a Cambiago, ha fornito le proprie biciclette a fuoriclasse del calibro di Jacques Anquetil, Eddy Merckx (Record dell'ora nel 1972), Michele Dancelli (con cui ha vinto la prima Milano – Sanremo nel 1970), Francesco Moser (primatista dell'ora nel 1984) e Giuseppe Saronni (oro mondiale a Goodwood nel 1982). Il primo prototipo di bicicletta in carbonio marchiato Colnago risale al 1987 e inizia in quegli anni la partnership con la Scuderia F1 Ferrari. L'epopea d'oro continua negli anni '90 grazie a Maurizio Fondriest, alla Mapei di Ballerini, Tafi e Museeuw dominatori della Parigi – Roubaix e delle grandi Classiche del Nord, fino ad Oscar Freire ed Erik Zabel. Nel ciclismo femminile Colnago regala soddisfazioni grazie all'omonimo team di Mountain Bike e Ciclocross che ha nelle sue fila l'altoatesina pluricampionessa d'Italia e Mondiale Eva Lechner e su strada fornendo i propri materiali alla Wiggle Honda di Giorgia Bronzini ed Elisa Longo Borghini, la quale nel 2015 ha vinto il Giro delle Fiandre, mentre la compagna di squadra Mara Abbott ha conquistato il secondo posto in classifica generale al Giro Rosa 2015.

Le buone notizie riguardanti il Giro Rosa non finiscono qui: l'UCI ha deliberato nei giorni scorsi a Richmond (USA) l'inizio del World Tour Femminile a partire dal 2016, di cui il Giro Rosa farà parte e sarà in programma dall'1 al 10 luglio prossimi.

COLNAGO IS A NEW JERSEY SPONSOR OF THE GIRO ROSA
 

The history of cycling enters in the family of the Women's Giro d'Italia. The company directed by Ernesto Colnago becomes the official sponsor of the Pink and White Jerseyof the most prestigious and important womens' Cycling Stage Race, that in the most recent years has been won by absolute champions like Fabiana Luperini (Italy), Mara Abbott (USA), Marianne Vos & Anna Van der Breggen (Netherlands). The officialization has arrived on Friday, when the Race Director Giuseppe Rivolta and the Company Owner Ernesto Colnago have signed a three-years-contract of sponsorship in the headquarter of Cambiago (Milan). The satisfaction is all in the declarations of Giuseppe Rivolta: "It's a true honor to have Colnago in our big family. It's the history of cycling in the world, the brand is known and admired everywhere for the quality of its products and for the sport victories in the last sixty years. It's official presence as sponsor gives to the Giro Rosa a bigger prestige all over the world". 

Colnago is an historical brand of italian and international cycling: it was born in 1952 and the first factory was situated in Via Garibaldi 10 in Cambiago. It gave its first bikes to champions like Jacques Anquetil, Eddy Merckx (Hour Record in 1972), Michele Dancelli (Winner of the Milano-Sanremo in 1970), Francesco Moser (Hour Record in 1984) and Giuseppe Saronni (World Champion in Goodwood 1982). The first prototype of a Colnago carbon frame was created in 1987 and in those years it started a partnership with Scuderia F1 Ferrari. The epic era continued in the '90s with the Team Mapei who dominated the North Classic Races with Ballerini, Tafi and Museeuw, until Oscar Freireand Erik Zabel. In Women Cycling the biggest successes have come with the Colnago Mountain Bike and Cyclocross Team represented by the Italian champion in the two offroad disciplines Eva Lechner, then in the road races giving its bike to the Wiggle Honda Team of Giorgia Bronzini and Elisa Longo Borghini, winner of the Tour of Flanders 2015. Her teammate Mara Abbott has finished second in the Giro Rosa 2015.

The good news about Giro Rosa don't end here: the UCI has communicated the beginning of Women's World Tour in 2016. The Giro Rosa is part of its calendar and it will take place from 1st to 10th July.
