BUONGIORNO DA MOTTA MONTECORVINO PER L'ULTIMA TAPPA DEL GIRO ROSA

Il giorno del verdetto è arrivato: fra poche ore sapremo chi avrà vinto il Giro Rosa 2020, il Giro della ripartenza. L'ultima tappa non sarà una passerella, come tendenzialmente accade, ma potrà seriamente decidere la classifica generale conclusiva. Da Motta Montecorvino a Motta Montecorvino per un totale di 109.9 chilometri. Non un metro di pianura sin dai chilometri iniziali ed un circuito da ripetere quattro volte, scalando il Volturino e arrivando in salita nella città di Motta Montecorvino, dove è posto un Gpm di terza categoria. La stanchezza delle otto precedenti frazioni potrebbe farsi sentire e la classifica generale, visti i distacchi ridotti, potrebbe subire varie modifiche. Tappa da seguire con la massima attenzione. MOTTA MONTECORVINO
Sede di partenza e di arrivo dell’ultima frazione del Giro Rosa 2020 è sempre la Puglia, sempre la provincia di Foggia, con la città di Motta Montecorvino. Situata nel Subappenino dauno, a 662 metri sul livello del mare, Motta Montecorvino si trova proprio di fronte a Monte Sambuco. Il paese è rinato dopo la caduta dell’abitato di Montecorvino, abbandonato dagli abitanti attorno al 1375. Il centro storico, dove si trova la Chiesa di San Giovanni Battista, conserva l’aspetto medievale. Da segnalare la presenza sul territorio del Centro trasmittente di Monte Sambuco, una delle principali postazioni RAI, il quale è protetto militarmente. Da non perdere nelle vicinanze del paese la cosiddetta ‘’Sedia del Diavolo’’: resti di un’antica torre che si è modificata nei secoli ed è andata via via assumendo la forma di una grande sedia che si mostra in tutta la sua bellezza in un paesaggio davvero unico.

The starting and finishing point of the last stage of the Giro Rosa 2020 is always Puglia, also the province of Foggia, with the city of Motta Montecorvino. Located in the Subappenino dauno, 662 meters above sea level, Motta Montecorvino is right in front of Monte Sambuco. The town was reborn after the fall of the town of Montecorvino, abandoned by the inhabitants around 1375.
