AD OVADA VITTORIA “THRILLING” DELL’OLANDESE KIRSTEN WILD

 Sprint vincente della possente velocista olandese Kirsten Wild nella seconda frazione del “Giro Rosa U.C.I. WWT”, la Ovada-Ovada di 122,1 chilometri. La forte portacolori del team Wiggle High5, compagna di squadra di Elisa Longo Borghini, si è lasciata alle spalle la due volte campionessa del mondo su strada Giorgia Bronzini (Cylance Pro Cycling) e la tre volte dominatrice della “Corsa Rosa” e campionessa europea in carica Marianne Vos (Waowdeals Pro Cycling).
 
La competizione, spalmata sulle strade di un percorso ricco di saliscendi e caratterizzata dal gran caldo, è vissuta sulla lunga fuga di una coppia ben assortita formata dalla già campionessa italiana di ciclocross Alice Maria Arzuffi (Bizkaia Durango Euskadi Murias) e dall’ex campionessa nazionale spagnola Sheyla Gutierrez Ruiz (Cylance Pro Cycling), che hanno accumulato un vantaggio massimo sul gruppo di oltre tre minuti. La bella azione delle atlete al comando è stata annullata dal plotone solamente in vista del triangolo rosso dell’ultimo chilometro, quando ormai il folto pubblico presente al traguardo di Ovada si attendeva una volata a due. Successo, quindi, per Kirsten Wild davanti a Bronzini, Vos, all’ex iridata Marta Bastianelli (Alè Cipollini) e all’olandese Amy Pieters (Boels Dolmans Cycling).
 
Grazie al decimo posto odierno Lucinda Brand (Team Sunweb) ha conquistato la Maglia Rosa, Kirsten Wild (Wiggle High5) ha vestito la maglia ciclamino, Sheyla Gutierrez Ruiz (Cyclance Pro Cycling), vincitrice del G.P.M. di terza categoria a Belforte Monferrato (Km 57,52), ha indossato la maglia verde, il giovane talento transalpino Jouliette Labous (Team Sunweb) si è aggiudicata la maglia bianca, mentre la tre volte tricolore su strada Elena Cecchini (Canyon Sram Racing) ha mantenuto senza troppi affanni la maglia blu. Domani, domenica 8 luglio, terza tappa, la più lunga del Giro con i suoi 132 chilometri. Partenza ed arrivo sono collocati a Corbetta.

A THRILLING VICTORY IN OVADA FOR DEUTCH KIRSTEN WILD

A beautiful action up to the finish line of the Deutch Kirsten Wild during the second stage of “Giro Rosa U.C.I. WWT”, Ovada-Ovada of 122,1 km: the strong athlete of Wiggle High5, teammate of Elisa Longo Borghini, preceded the two times World champion Giorgia Bronzini (Cylance Pro Cycling) and the three times champion of “Giro Rosa” and 2017 European champion Marianne Vos (Waowdeals Pro Cycling).
 
The stage drawn on a continuos latch of hills and run with a lot of heat, exploded after 50km with the breakaway of the many times Italian cross champion Alice Maria Arzuffi (Bizkaia Durango Euskadi Murias) and the ex Spanish champion Sheyla Gutierrez Ruiz (Cylance Pro Cycling), arriving to lead the peloton by 3’. Only in the last kilometers the bunch reduced the gap with the first position for Kirsten Wild the second for Bronzini, the third for Vos. After them the ex World champion Marta Bastianelli (Alè Cipollini) and the Dutch Amy Pieters (Boels Dolmans Cycling).
                         
With the 10th place of today Lucinda Brand (Team Sunweb) is the new “Maglia Rosa”, Kirsten Wild (Wiggle High5) wears the cyclamine jersey, Sheyla Gutierrez Ruiz (Cyclance Pro Cycling), that won the G.P.M. of 3rd category at Belforte Monferrato (Km 57,52)  wears the green jersey and the young French talent  Jouliette Labous (Team Sunweb) wears the white jersey. The three time Italian champion Elena Cecchini (Canyon Sram Racing) still wear the blue jersey. Tomorrow, Sunday 8th July, the longest stage of “Giro Rosa” with 132 km from Corbetta to Corbetta.

BUONGIORNO DA OVADA


Dopo la cronometro a squadre che ieri ha sancito il successo del Team Sunweb e con la olandese Ellen Van Dijk in Maglia Rosa sul podio di Verbania, il Giro Rosa si trasferisce nel Piemonte Meridionale per la prima tappa in linea. Si tratta di una frazione di 120,390 chilometri, con partenza e arrivo a Ovada, nell'Alessandrino, sulle strade rese famose dalla Milano - Sanremo e dove si allenavano grandi campioni del ciclismo epico come Fausto Coppi e Costante Girardengo, nati nel territorio percorso dalla tappa. Due sono i circuiti che verranno affrontati, il primo ad ovest di Ovada, che raggiungerà l'abitato di Acqui Terme (Traguardo Volante), il secondo con il GPM di Belforte Monferrato (3° cat.) e il secondo traguardo volante a Novi Ligure. Se la prima parte della tappa risulta più vallonata, i chilometri finali sono pianeggianti e potrebbero favorire le velociste. Per Ellen Van Dijk e il Team Sunweb l'obiettivo sarà quello di mantenere la Maglia Rosa, anche se le valorose sprinters presenti, faranno di tutto per guadagnare secondi preziosi, o perchè no, scalzare la olandese dal primo posto in classifica generale.

                                   GOOD MORNING FROM OVADA


After the Team Time Trial won by the Team Sunweb, and the Dutch rider Ellen Van Dijk wearing the Maglia Rosa on the Podium in Verbania, the Giro Rosa goes to the Southern Piedmont for the Stage 2: Ovada - Ovada, 120.390 kms, on the roads made famous by the Milan-San Remo, home of epic cycling champions like Fausto Coppi and Costante Girardengo, who were born here. There are two different circuits in this stage: the first, passing through Acqui Terme (First Intermediate Sprint), the second with the climb to Belforte Monferrato (KOM Category 3) and the second sprint in Novi Ligure. If the first part is hilly, the last kilometers are flat and they suit to the sprinters. Ellen Van Dijk and the Team Sunweb will try to keep the leadership but the faster sprinte will try to gain precious seconds or become the new GC leader.
