MEN'S UPDATE: Mitchelton-SCOTT conclude Giro with stage win and 8th overall

 
     
 

The 2019 Giro d’Italia came to a close yesterday with a final time trial in Verona, with Australian champion Luke Durbridge riding to 11th position on the final stage.

Despite not walking away with the title they dreamed of, Mitchelton-SCOTT concluded the month of racing with a stage victory from Esteban Chaves and eighth overall with Simon Yates.

Meanwhile, Italian neo-pro Edoardo Affini claimed his first professional victory on stage four and finish fourth overall at the Tour of Norway.

Fresh off a victory for Lucy Kenndy at Durango-DurangoMitchelton-SCOTT women headed back to Emakumeen XXXII.Bira looking to defend their title.

Defending champion Amanda Spratt kicked off the race in style, winning the second stage. The team fought bravely to protect it, but it was heartbreak on the final day as she narrowly lost the leader’s jersey to Elisa Longo-Borghini (Trek-Segafredo).
