BARDIANI CSF FAIZANÈ: “IL FUGGITIVO” ALESSANDRO TONELLI SUBITO ALL’ATTACCO.
Dopo gli oltre 1.000 km collezionati a Milano-Sanremo, Tirreno-Adriatico, Milano-Torino e Campionati Italiani, “il fuggitivo” del team non si è lasciato scappare la prima occasione per testarsi all’attacco. Alessandro Tonelli in fuga dal km0, ripreso a circa 10km dal traguardo.

Prima tappa in linea di questo Giro d’Italia dopo la crono di apertura e prima fuga. La Bardiani CSF Faizanè risponde presente con l’uomo delle fughe di questi ultimi mesi, Alessandro Tonelli.
L’atleta bresciano si era già messo in luce in numerose azioni nei precedenti appuntamenti World Tour come la Milano-Sanremo e la Tirreno Adriatico, così come in altre gare prestigiose quali il Campionato Italiano e la Milano-Torino, collezionando oltre 1.000 km di fuga davanti al gruppo. Nella tappa odierna l’atleta della Bardiani CSF Faizanè è scattato insieme ad altri 4 corridori sin dai primissimi km di gara. Buona andatura e cambi regolari con il gruppo dietro a inseguire e poi controllare il loro distacco. Troppi gli interessi del gruppo con tutte le maglie ancora in bilico per lasciare troppo spazio ai fuggitivi di giornata ripresi a circa 10km dalla meta.
LA DICHIARAZIONE DI ALESSANDRO TONELLI.
“Sin dai primi km ci siamo guardati e abbiamo capito che sarebbe partita la fuga. Non siamo andati via al primissimo scatto ma non ci sono voluti moltissimi km. Non ho partecipato allo sprint del GPM perché comunque vincendolo non si sarebbe potuta prendere la maglia, quindi ho preferito risparmiare energie e testare bene la gamba in fuga in vista delle opportunità importanti. Oggi sapevamo di avere poche chance di arrivare ma in questo Giro ci saranno opportunità importanti per le fughe in cui dovremo esserci. Intanto è stato importante esserci per dare visibilità al team ma il obiettivo è provarci anche nelle fughe che contano”
La salita finale compie una discreta selezione, Filippo Fiorelli l’atleta designato per il finale è costretto a mettere piede a terra a causa di una sbandata dei corridori davanti a lui a circa metà della salita. È così Giovanni Carboni a tenere le ruote del gruppetto principale, chiudendo 49° a 5 secondi da Diego Ulissi vincitore di giornata. Domani l’arrivo sull’Etna, primo importante test per gli scalatori.

BARDIANI CSF FAIZANÈ: ALESSANDRO TONELLI IN THE FIRST BREAKAWAY OF THE GIRO D'ITALIA.
After the more than 1,000 km collected in Milan-Sanremo, Tirreno-Adriatico, Milan-Turin and Italian Championships, the team's "escape-man" did not miss the first opportunity to test himself in the attack. In today's stage, the Bardiani CSF Faizanè rider sprinted along with 4 other riders from the very first km of the race. ALESSANDRO TONELLI, DECLARATION.
“From the first km we looked at each other and we understood that the breakway would start. We didn't go away at the very first shot but it didn't take many kilometers. I did not participate in the GPM sprint because winning it would not have been able to take the jersey anyway, so I preferred to save energy and test my legs the breakaway looking forward to other important opportunities. Today we knew we had little chance of arriving but in this Giro there will be important opportunities for the breakaways in which we will have to be. In the meantime, it was important to be there to give visibility to the team but the goal is to try even in the actions that matter "
The final climb makes a quite important selection, Filippo Fiorelli, the athlete designated for the final by the team, is forced to set foot on the ground due to a skid by the riders in front of him about halfway down the climb.
