BARDIANI CSF FAIZANÈ: I PRIMI 185KM DI FUGA DI SAMUELE ZOCCARATO AL GIRO D’ITALIA.

Grande azione di Samuele Zoccarato nella terza tappa del Giro d’Italia. L’atleta neo-professionista al suo primo Giro d’Italia realizza la fuga più lunga della sua carriera nella sua prima azione alla Corsa Rosa. Riassorbito dal gruppo a 5 km dal traguardo è stato uno degli ultimi attaccanti di giornata a essere riassorbito. 

Ci sono prime volte e prime volte. Samuele Zoccarato sicuramente ricorderà la sua prima azione da neo-professionista e debuttante al Giro d’Italia. Un’azione che lo ha portato a lottare fino a 5km dal traguardo per il successo, nella fuga più lunga, fino ad ora, della sua carriera. 

LA TAPPA.

Azione partita sin dalle prime battute di gara e composta da 8 atleti che hanno portato il loro margine di vantaggio fino a oltre 6 minuti dal gruppo controllato per larghi tratti di gara dagli uomini di Peter Sagan, tra i favoriti di tappa. Dopo una prima parte pianeggiante ma corsa a buon ritmo e sotto la pioggia, la seconda parte di gara è stata caratterizzata dai 3 GPM di giornata nei quali la fuga ha iniziato a perdere alcuni attaccanti. Sull’ultimo GPM di giornata è proprio Samuele Zoccarato ad imporre un’accelerazione e restano così via via solo 3 uomini al comando: lo svizzero Simon Pellaud, l’olandese Van Der Hoorn e Samuele Zoccarato. Serie di scatti e controscatti nei quali Zoccarato perde la ruota dei due attaccanti, ma è bravo ad accordarsi immediatamente al contrattacco di Ciccone e Gallopin che lo riportano su Pellaud ma non su Van Der Hoorn che ha allungato ulteriormente. Negli ultimi 5 km di gara il gruppo rinviene così su tutti gli attaccanti tranne che sull’abile atleta olandese che vince a sorpresa davanti al gruppo lanciato in volata.

Nello sprint del gruppo ormai ridotto dall’alto ritmo di corsa 16° posto di Enrico Battaglin, il migliore del team al traguardo, davanti proprio a Samuele Zoccarato che rimasto nel gruppo dei migliori chiude 28°.

LA DICHIARAZIONE.

Queste le parole di Samuele Zoccarato dopo il traguardo: “È stata la fuga più lunga della mia carriera e mi resta il rammarico di non essere riuscito a rimanerci fino alla fine vista la vittoria dell’atleta olandese ma so anche di aver dato tutto. Purtroppo negli ultimi km ho avuto i crampi, non avevo mai fatto un’azione così lunga e devo imparare a conoscere i limiti. Sull’ultimo GPM sono scattato, col senno di poi forse potevo risparmiare qualche energia, ma è anche vero che ho imposto un accelerazione che forse è stata decisiva per far si che l’azione proseguisse così tanto.”

BARDIANI CSF FAIZANÈ: 185KM OF BREAKWAY FOR SAMUELE ZOCCARATO AT GIRO D'ITALIA.

Great action by Samuele Zoccarato in the third stage of the Giro d'Italia. The neo-professional athlete in his first Giro d'Italia makes the longest breakaway of his career in his first action at the Corsa Rosa. Reabsorbed by the group 5 km from the finish, he was one of the last attackers of the day to be reabsorbed.

There are different kind of debuts. The one of Samuele Zoccarato will for sure remain fixed in his mind about his first breakaway a neo-professional and rookie in the Giro d’Italia. An action that led him to fight up to 5km from the finish line for success, in the longest breakaway of his career so far.

THE STAGE.
Action started right from the start and made up of 8 athletes who took their advantage up to over 6 minutes from the group controlled for large sections of the race by the men of Peter Sagan, one of the stage favorites. After a flat first part but running at a good pace and in the rain, the second part of the race was characterized by the 3 GPM of the day in which the escape began to lose some forwards. On the last GPM of the day it is Samuele Zoccarato who imposes an acceleration and so on there are only 3 men leading: the Swiss Simon Pellaud, the Dutch Van Der Hoorn and Samuele Zoccarato. Series of shots and counter-shots in which Zoccarato loses the wheel of the two forwards, but he is good at immediately agreeing to the counterattack of Ciccone and Gallopin who bring him back to Pellaud but not to Van Der Hoorn who has stretched further. In the last 5 km of the race the group thus finds all the attackers except the skilled Dutch athlete who wins by surprise in front of the sprint group.

In the sprint of the group now reduced by the high speed of the race, 16th position of Enrico Battaglin, the best of the team at the finish line, in front of Samuele Zoccarato who remained in the group of the best closes 28th.

THE STATEMENT.
These are the words of Samuele Zoccarato after the finish: "It was the longest escape of my career and I am left with the regret of not being able to stay there until the end given the victory of the Dutch athlete but I also know that I gave everything. Unfortunately in the last few kilometers I had cramps, I had never done such a long action and I have to learn to know the limits. On the last GPM I sprinted, with hindsight maybe I could have saved some energy, but it is also true that I imposed an acceleration that was perhaps decisive in making the action go on for so long. "
