BARDIANI CSF FAIZANÈ: GIOVANNI CARBONI SFIORA IL SUCCESSO DI TAPPA AL GIRO D’ITALIA.

QUINTO POSTO, MA CHE AZIONE.

Grande prestazione di Giovanni Carboni nell’ottava tappa del Giro d’Italia. Dopo aver centrato una fuga di giornata complicata, uscita dopo 50km di corsa ad alta velocità, attacca anticipando la salita finale restando solo in testa alla corsa a meno di 3km dal termine. Ripreso e saltato nel finale chiude in quinta posizione.

Giovanni Carboni sfiora il colpo grosso al Giro d’Italia sull’arrivo di Guardia Sanframondi. Dopo aver centrato una fuga complicata, prova una grande azione subito prima della salita conclusiva scattando insieme a Victor Campenaerts, per poi staccarlo in salita restando solo al comando della tappa.

Alle sue spalle è bravo a salire regolare il vincitore di giornata, il francese Victor Lafay del team Cofidis che lo recupera saltandolo a circa 2km dal traguardo. Giovanni Carboni viene recuperato anche dagli immediati inseguitori chiudendo quinto di tappa, ma con la consapevolezza di aver cercato e sfiorato la vittoria fino in fondo.

Tappa molto movimentata sin dalle prime battute con i primi 50 km corsi a velocità record. Sono tantissimi tentativi di fuga, alcune delle quali anche molto numerose, ma il team INEOS non lascia spazio. Dopo 50 km parte la fuga giusta composta da 9 corridori, tra i quali Giovanni Carboni, uno dei due corridori Professional riusciti ad andare all’attacco. Buono il lavoro di tutta la squadra che per 50 km a rotazione ha inserito sempre almeno un uomo nei numerosi tentativi di attacco al fine di imbroccare la fuga giusta, riuscita poi con Giovanni Carboni.

LA DICHIARAZIONE.

Queste le parole di Giovanni Carboni dopo il traguardo: “Ai -7 ho scelto di seguire lo scatto di Campenaerts perché per le sue caratteristiche credevo che mi avrebbe condotto con più vantaggio all’imbocco della salita invece ho trovato poca collaborazione. Li l’ho staccato è ho sperato di andare a vincere ma da dietro sono saliti forte e non ho potuto così resistere al ritorno di Lafay e Gavazzi. Purtroppo è un’occasione sfumata, quinto come nella mia prima fuga al Giro del 2019, e come allora voglio sicuramente riprovarci nelle prossime tappe per cercare il successo di tappa che oggi è purtroppo sfumato.”

Davvero un ottimo inizio di Giro d’Italia per la Bardiani CSF Faizanè che oltre al quinto posto odierno ha già collezionato un podio, un settimo e un nono posto con Filippo Fiorelli, oltre a numerose azioni d’attacco con Umberto Marengo, Samuele Zoccarato, Davide Gabburo, Filippo Fiorelli e ovviamente Giovanni Carboni.

BARDIANI CSF FAIZANÈ: GIOVANNI CARBONI FINAL 5TH IN TODAY STAGE OF GIRO D’ITALIA AFTER A GREAT ACTION.

Great performance by Giovanni Carboni in the eighth stage of the Giro d'Italia. After a complicated breakaway of the day, leaving after 50km of high speed ride, he attacks on the final climb, remaining only in the lead less than 3km from the end. Giovanni Carboni comes close to success in today stage of Giro d’Italia on the finish-line of Guardia Sanframondi. After taking a complicated breakaway, he tried a great action on the final climb by sprinting together with Victor Campenaerts, only to detach him remaining only in command of the stage.

Behind him, the winner of the day, the French Victor Lafay of the Cofidis team, is good at climbing regularly, who recovers him by jumping about 2km from the finish. These are the words of Giovanni Carboni after the finish line: “At -7 I decide to follow Campenaerts’s because due to its characteristics I believed it would lead me with more advantage to the start of the climb. I took it off there and I hoped to go on to win but from behind they came up strong and so I couldn't resist the return of Lafay and Gavazzi. Unfortunately it is a vanished occasion, fifth as in my 2019 breakaway at Giro, and as then I definitely want to try again in the next stages to look for the stage success that today has unfortunately vanished. "

A really good start to the Giro d'Italia for Bardiani CSF Faizanè which in addition to today's fifth place has already collected a podium, a seventh and a ninth place with Filippo Fiorelli, as well as numerous attacking actions with Umberto Marengo, Samuele Zoccarato, Davide Gabburo, Filippo Fiorelli and of course Giovanni Carboni.
