After their dominant display on the opening stage, Team DSM and Lorena Wiebes made it back-to-back wins with the European champion charging to a brilliant sprint victory in Ede at the Simac Ladies Tour.
A more controlled and calm stage than yesterday, Team DSM were intent on setting up another fast finale with Elise Uijen and Leah Kirchmann doing a brilliant job to set the early pace and reel in the breakaway. With the attackers caught, the pace ramped up in the finale and things became chaotic. Franziska Koch brought the team forward before Pfeiffer Georgi took over with Wiebes in her wheel; while Charlotte Kool acted as a guard behind. On the hectic run in Georgi delivered a very impressive turn on the front, bringing Wiebes at the head of the race inside 500 metres to go. Using her nous, Wiebes waited for another rider to launch their sprint before coming round them - putting down the power to take another incredible win for the team and her 20th of the season.
