"This was a great race from Team SD Worx," Mischa Bredewold enthuses. "We were always in control and really rode together. Femke Markus and Anna Shackley put us in a seat by being in the breakaway. Behind them, Barbara Guarischi, Niamh Fisher-Black and Lonneke Uneken were attentive. They responded to every attack, which made it easy for me to stay in front. I just had to wait for the right moment and attack."
That moment came on the Moerslag. Bredewold attacked at 14 kilometres to go and arrived solo. After which her teammate Lonneke Uneken added to the dominance by riding to second place. "This was the perfect day," Bredewold continued. "I am happy to immediately take my first victory in the colours of Team SD Worx already in my first year. This gives a lot of confidence and I am happy and grateful that I could perform this role within this team. It is my first victory in a one-day race. It may not be a World Tour, but it is still an important race. At Team SD Worx, every race is important, so we will celebrate this with champagne."
