Lorena Wiebes fell just short of keeping Amber Kraak from victory. "The team did everything they could to get the leading group back. It's a shame I just fell short, especially for all the work Femke Markus, Femke Gerritse and Barbara Guarischi put in. But in the end, the overall ranking of Lotte Kopecky was the most important thing for us. This is a great start to the season for us. This race served mainly as preparation for the classic work and was a good test for our sprint train. The confidence in my train has increased even more, especially with Lotte as the final lead-out who I also dare to follow blindly in the finale. We showed great things together. The feeling is good towards the classics, especially now that I know my sprint is good. Now we have one more training camp in Spain to connect the dots."
