Latest news from Team Bigla Pro Cycling Team

Team Bigla Pro Cycling Team is pleased announced the renewal of contracts for Clara Koppenburg and Lisa Klein have been agreed upon. The two German riders turned professional this season and have both excelled. The then 19 year old Koppenburg got a start in the Giro Rosa, the only Grand Tour in women’s cycling.

Klein started her season during the Spring classics and showed incredible potential even though it was her first time on the cobbles. She then separated her time between the road and the track with the hopes of possibly going to the Olympic games in 2016.

Clara Koppenburg

I've learned a lot this year from my teammates, my team boss and the races. It was amazing to be part of big races like the Giro or the World Cups, supporting the team as much as possible. Another reason for being part of the team for another year is that I had a great time, not only with the other girls but also with the staff. I'm already looking forward to next year. I have developed a lot this year and I have gained strength in the races and the ability to move in the field or being an active member in the races. I’ve also learned to cycle in and with a team, which has helped on a human level as well. My focus for next year will be to become a generally better and stronger cyclist to support my teammates even more. I’m also planning to improve my time trials as I had a lot of fun doing that this year.

Lisa Klein

This season was a good year for me. It was my first year in the elite class and I was excited to do my first pro races and road World Cup. From race to race I learned so many things, not just during the race but also before and after. The main teacher was [Team Manager] Thomas Campana but I cannot forget my amazing teammates. When Thomas is in the car behind you during the TT you will have the best coaching. I really love these adventures. I made a super good development in the first year and I am motivated to establish my training and race with the team. The reason I chose BPCT is that I am happy with my development here and I know that I will continue with a good development. I made mistakes, the team analyzed it and I learnt how to become a better rider. I am proud to have such a great team with a big platform.

Thomas Campana, Team Manager

Riders like Clara & Lisa are a pleasure to work with. They have had steep learning curves and huge talent combined with absolute determination on improving every detail of the sport. They are two absolute talents on the way to the top.
