Giro delle Marche: Bigla wins best young rider jersey with Sophie Wright, and comes away with 5th in GC with Elizabeth Banks

With a 104km-long stage around Offida, the three-day Italian stage race came to a close today. The Bigla riders took to the final day looking to build upon their solid results from this week, and ended up taking a strong third place with Elizabeth Banks, who finished only a handful of seconds behind the eventual stage winner. Teammate Sophie Wright made it two Top 10s for the team today, finishing in eighth place.

As a result, Bigla finishes with two riders in the top 10 in the general classification, with Lizzy having taken fifth overall and Sophie claiming eighth. Sophie also ended up winning the best young rider's jersey, with teammate Niamh Fisher-Black finishing second in this classification, in what was her very first race for the squad.

In addition, Bigla finished second in the team classification, only 13 seconds down on the winning team, an achievement that demonstrates the strength of the performance of the riders as a whole this week.
