Moolman-Pasio top 10 for the second day in a row Lisa Klein keeps sprints jersey in Women's Tour
Klein earned the jersey after winning the first intermediate sprint on stage 1 and placing second on the second sprint. She maintained the lead after a tough 144.5km stage that started and finished in Stoke-on-Trent. “The stage went well. It was good to finish in the first group. I had a bad moment before the first long climb and got dropped,” Klein said. “Christina [Perchtold] and Stephie [Pohl] brought me back. We went to the front together immediately, leading into the climb. In the end of the climb, I could follow in the second group and we came back after the top.” “The most important thing is we are a strong team and working really well together. The girls gave me so much motivation today to be there and to fight and come to the front. I was covering attacks in the final to help Ashleigh. The communication is really good amongst us all and we’re following the plans really well.” Moolman-Pasio placed in the top ten for the second day and moved up to sixth in the overall standings. The race continues tomorrow will the peloton facing 150.8km from Atherstone to Royal Leamington Spa. |
