ARLENIS SIERRA WINS THE TRE VALLI VARESINE!
The 2021 season of the A.R. Monex Liv Women's Pro Cycling Team ended in the best possible way: in the last scheduled race as a team, the Tre Valli Varesine, another splendid victory arrived by Arlenis Sierra who puts the icing on the cake at the end of a month and a half of really exciting races characterized by five victories, a second and a third place and the great result at the Road World Championship in Leuven. «I really didn't expect a season finale like this - said Arlenis Sierra - and it was all much higher than my expectations. In the last few races everything has gone the right way and I am happy with these excellent results, for me, for the team and for all those around me».
And today's success came in a race that made the history of cycling not only in Italy: the men's Tre Valli Varesine today reached the prestigious milestone of the 100 editions disputed and for the occasion the organizers of the Società Ciclistica Alfredo Binda have decided to propose also an international women's race for the first time. The race started from Busto Arsizio and after about 46 kilometers, with the ascent of Morazzone, it reached Varese: here began an 11.7 kilometer circuit to be repeated four times with the short climb of Via Montello and the longer one towards Piazzale della Liberta for a total of 92.4 kilometers.
At the beginning of the last lap, 6 riders remained in front including Arlenis Sierra and Katia Ragusa, then in the final the trio that decided the race was formed: the Cuban champion clearly imposed herself in the sprint in front of the same cyclists who had accompanied her on the podium at the Giro dell'Emilia. For the A.R. Monex Liv Women's Pro Cycling Team also arrived the eighth place of Maria Vittoria Sperotto and the tenth of Katia Ragusa to crown a good team performance.
