DOMANI IN GARA NEI PAESI BASCHI

Archiviata la gara su strada dei Giochi Olimpici di Tokyo che ha visto al via Arlenis Sierra e Yareli Salazar, con la cubana giunta al traguardo al 34° posto con la luce che si è spenta all'improvviso negli ultimi 15 chilometri, la A.R. Monex Liv Women's Pro Cycling Team si appresta a tornare a competere in una delle prestigiose classiche dell'UCI Women's World Tour: domani nei Paesi Baschi è infatti in programma la seconda edizione della Donostia San Sebastián Klasikoa nella sua versione al femminile. Il percorso misura 139.8 chilometri e prevede nell'ordine le salite di Aia, Jaizkibel, Gurutze e Murgil-Tontorra, quest'ultima una rampa di 2 km al 10% a soli 8 chilometri dall'arrivo. 

La A.R. Monex Liv Women's Pro Cycling Team sarà in gara con cinque atlete. C'è grande attesa per la padrona di casa Eider Merino, molto motivata dall'essere in gara su strade che conosce bene: la scalatrice basca è reduce dal 17° posto finale al Giro d'Italia Donne con buone prove nei due arrivi in salita, e sebbene il percorso non sia totalmente adatto alle sue caratteristiche potrà godere della spinta dei propri tifosi. Al fianco di Merino ci sarà Katia Ragusa che nell'ultimo mese ha cercato di ricaricare le batterie e prepararsi ad un finale di stagione da assoluta protagonista, ma in gara ci saranno anche le messicane Ariadna Gutiérrez e Andrea Ramirez, e l'altra italiana Maria Vittoria Sperotto.

TOMORROW RACE IN THE BASQUE COUNTRY

Archived the road race of the Tokyo Olympic Games that saw Arlenis Sierra and Yareli Salazar at the start, with the Cuban reaching the finish line in 34th place with the light that suddenly went out in the last 15 kilometers, the A.R. Monex Liv Women's Pro Cycling Team is preparing to return to compete in one of the prestigious classics of the UCI Women's World Tour: tomorrow in the Basque Country there will be the second edition of the Donostia San Sebastián Klasikoa in its female version. The route measures 139.8 kilometers and includes, in order, the climbs of Aia, Jaizkibel, Gurutze and Murgil-Tontorra, the latter a "wall" of 2 km at 10% just 8 kilometers from the finish line. 

The A.R. Monex Liv Women's Pro Cycling Team will compete with five cyclists. There is great expectation for the home rider Eider Merino, very motivated by being in the race on roads she knows well: the Basque climber is back from the 17th place in the final overall classification at the Giro d'Italia Donne with decent performances in the two uphill finishes, and although the course is not totally suited to her characteristics, she will be able to enjoy the thrust of her fans. Alongside Merino there will be Katia Ragusa who in the last month has tried to recharge the batteries and prepare for a season finale as an absolute protagonist, but the Mexican Ariadna Gutiérrez and Andrea Ramirez will also be in the race and the other Italian Maria Vittoria Sperotto will also be in the race.
