EIDER MERINO VINCE IN COPPA DI SPAGNA
 Nel pomeriggio di sabato 1 maggio la A.R. Monex Liv Women's Pro Cycling ha potuto gioire assieme alla scalatrice basca Eider Merino che ha conquistato il successo nella Balmasedako Emakumeen Saria, gara del calendario nazionale spagnolo e prova valida anche per la Copa de España Féminas Cofidis. La corsa prevedeva un tracciato di 91.9 chilometri con partenza e arrivo nella cittadina di Balmaseda proprio dove Eider Merino vive e si allena abitualmente: il finale era invece caratterizzato da un circuito da ripetere due volte con le salite dell'Alto de Abellaneda e dell'Alto de Beci. Erano strade che la 26enne basca conosceva molto bene e che si adattavano alle sue caratteristiche, tanto che in passato Merino s'era già imposta in questa corsa in tre occasioni, nel 2013, nel 2015 e nel 2018.
Dopo che il gruppo si era selezionato sulle prime salite lasciando davanti solo 7 atlete, decisivo è stato l'ultimo passaggio sull'Alto de Beci: qui, a circa 7 chilometri dall'arrivo, Eider Merino ha attaccato con decisione, staccando le rivali e involandosi da sola verso la vittoria. Nel finale l'atleta della A.R. Monex Liv Women's Pro Cycling Team ha dovuto controllare il tentativo di rimonta di Malgorzata Jasinska, ma nonostante quest'ultima sia arrivata praticamente in scia, Merino ha potuto alzare le braccia in segno di vittoria.
Queste le parole di Eider Merino al termine della corsa: «Correre in casa dà sempre qualcosa in più e mi ha fatto piacere vedere come il livello della corsa sia cresciuto molto negli ultimi anni. Dopo la prima scalata dell'Alto de Beci ho cambiato strategia, ho provato a fare un cambio di ritmo molto forte, e sono riuscita ad aprire un piccolo buco: ho dovuto dare tutto fino all'ultimo metro perché sapevo che dietro di me c'era un'atleta che stava recuperando».

EIDER MERINO WINS IN THE SPANISH CUP
 On the afternoon of Saturday May 1st the A.R. Monex Liv Women's Pro Cycling Team was able to celebrate together with the Basque climber Eider Merino who conquered the success in the Balmasedako Emakumeen Saria, a race on the Spanish national calendar and also valid for the Copa de España Féminas Cofidis. The race was held on a 91.9 kilometer route with start and finish in the town of Balmaseda where Eider Merino lives and usually trains: the finale featured a circuit to be repeated twice with the climbs of Alto de Abellaneda and Alto de Beci to create splits in the peloton. These were roads that the 26-year-old Basque knew very well and that suited her characteristics, so much so that in the past Merino had already won this race on three occasions, in 2013, in 2015 and in 2018.
After the peloton had selected itself on the first climbs leaving only 7 riders in front, the last passage on the Alto de Beci was decisive: here, about 7 kilometers from the finish, Eider Merino place a strong attack, breaking away from rivals and flying alone towards victory. In the final, the athlete of the A.R. Monex Liv Women's Pro Cycling Team had to control Malgorzata Jasinska's comeback attempt, but despite the latter coming very close, Merino was able to raise her arms to celebrate victory. These are the words of Eider Merino at the end of the race: «Racing at home always gives something more and I was pleased to see how the level of the race has increased a lot in recent years. After the first ascent of the Alto de Beci I changed my strategy, I tried to make a very strong change of pace, and I managed to open a small gap: I had to give everything until the last meter because I knew that there was behind me a riders who was arriving very fast».
