Amalie Dideriksen re-signs with the UCI Boels-Dolmans Cycling Team

SITTARD – UCI Boels-Dolmans Cycling Team is proud to announce that twenty-year-old Amalie Dideriksen has re-signed with the women's international cycling team for two years. Consequently, the young talent of the Boels-Dolmans Cycling Team is the fourth team member in recent period who has renewed her contract.

Monday 30 May 2016 - Amalie Dideriksen signed with the Boels-Dolmans Cycling Team in 2015, following her second junior world road title. Her re-signing follows the announcement that Boels Rental and Dolmans Landscaping Group have extended their sponsorship until the end of 2018. Next to that, Danny Stam, Lizzie Armitstead, Chantal Blaak and Christine Majerus have all recently extended their contracts by two years.

The twenty-year-old professional rider is very satisfied about the eighteen months she has spent with the team so far. “I like my team mates, the staff, the organisation behind the squad, the way we race, our tactics, everything. We also have such a good atmosphere, everyone wants to help each other. I think this support for one another has been of tremendous value to the team and that it has helped us to set great results.”

Focus
The reigning Danish road champion has already shown many signs of her sporting talent. Her first road race of 2016 with the Boels-Dolmans Cycling Team was at Energiewacht Tour in April where she was part of the team’s historic team time trial win. Next to that, she sprinted to second place at the Elsy Jacobs Festival this year and took her first professional victory at the Lotto Belgium Tour last year. While Dideriksen’s biggest objective this season is on the track at the Olympics in Rio, she will turn her focus to the road for the final few months of the 2016 season.

Amalie Dideriksen is committed to putting in the effort required to achieve good results. “I hope that I eventually can earn a spot on the team for the team time trial at the world championships,” she says. Team manager Danny Stam is convinced that Dideriksen can reach her full potential over the years. “Amalie is a true talent and a winner. Someone who can win many sprints in the future.
