The pride to represent a nation, the honour of trying to achieve the best possible results in the "home race".
The Emirati team is fully aware of the importance of the race, which is registered in the World Tour 2017 calendar, and the quality of the line-up will fit the right ambitions.
Sport directors Mario Scirea and Marco Marzano will manage the performances of a group of fast riders whose members will be Ben Swift, Andrea Guardini and Simone Consonni, of a duo of general classification contenders who are Rui Costa-Diego Ulissi (in photo Bettini, they pose with the bike Colnago C60), and of a top quality climber Louis Meintjes. They'll all exploit the experience of Kristijan Durasek and Manuele Mori.
The members of the operative staff will be the masseurs Lima, Napolitano and Quadranti, the mechanics Cornacchione and Morari, the press officer Appiani, with the presence of physiacian Dr Corsetti.
This is the stages schedule of the Abu Dhabi Tour 2017:
- 1st stage, Thursday 23 February: Emirates Motor Company stage, Madinat Zayed-Madinat Zayed, 187 km
- 2nd stage, Friday 24 February: Nation Towers stage, Abu Dhabi (Al Maryah Island)-Abu Dhabi (Al Marina), 153 km
- 3rd stage, Saturday 25 February: Al Maryah Island stage, Al Ain-Jabel Hafeet, 186 km
- 4th stage, Sunday 26 February: Yas Island stage, Yas Marina Circuit (26 laps), 143 km
L'orgoglio di rappresentare una intera nazione e l'onore di cercare il massimo risultato in quella che è di fatto la gara "di casa": saranno intense le motivazioni che spingeranno i corridori del Team UAE nell'edizione 2017 dell'Abu Dhabi Tour.
La formazione emiratina è conscia dell'importanza della corsa, inserita dal 2017 nel calendario World Tour, e il profilo qualitativo dei ciclisti che saranno al via della gara rispecchierà le guste ambizioni.
I ds Mario Scirea e Marco Marzano avranno a disposizione una batteria di uomini veloci composta da Ben Swift, Andrea Guardini e Simone Consonni e una coppia di campioni che potranno ambire ai quartieri alti della graduatoria generale, ovvero Rui Costa e Diego Ulissi (in foto Bettini, in posa con la bici Colnago C60), oltre a uno scalatore di pura qualità come Louis Meintjes.
A dare solidità a tutta la formazione saranno gli infaticabili Kristijan Durasek e Manuele Mori.
Lo staff operativo sarà composto dai massaggiatori Lima, Napolitano e Quadranti, dai meccanici Cornacchione e Morari, dall'addetto stampa Appiani, con la presenza del Dr Corsetti come medico responsabile: there will be high motivations for Team UAE's riders which will participate in the Abu Dhabi Tour 2017.
