Matej Mohoric closes in 3rd place the GP Lugano behind the winner the Italian Diego Ulissi and the bileorusso Alexandr Riabushenko. Vincenzo Nibali finished 5th at the the six riders sprint that decided the Swiss race.

"A result that does not satisfy me much - explains Matej Mohoric - because it does not repay the great work of my teammates. In the finale, I didn't have good legs and I made a little mistake trying to overcome Ulissi along the barriers. The positive side is that I had good feelings after the Teide training camp and I will be at the start of Tour de Suisse with more confidence in my chances ".

“In the final lap, I attacked along with Ulissi - says Vincenzo Nibali - and we built an advantage of 20 seconds. A few kilometers from the finish line they took us back and then I tried to help Matej because he’s faster than me at the sprint. We did a good race even though the victory didn't come”.

Sport Directors Alberto Volpi for the final comment: “we gave our best and touched the victory. I told the boys that they did their best and that I have no regrets. Matej and Vincenzo have been great protagonists and I think they have made a great performance on a very demanding course ".
