Manuele Boaro won the stage to Učka mountain at Tour of Croatia

Saturday, 21th April – Manuele Boaro won a hard climbing stage, 156,5 km long from touristic town Rabac to the steep finish on the Učka mountain in the National Park. Not even 13% climb didn’t stop Manuele to attack hard in the last 500m. Maunuele left behind second positioned Owsian (CCC) for 7 seconds and came alone to the top of the mountain over Kvarner bay. Kanstantsin Siutsou kept 1st place in General Classification.

“It couldn’t go better for our team today …. We won the stage and Kanstantsin kept the red jersey. So, soon after the fast start of the race a few raiders went into a breakaway and among them was Manuele Boaro. They paced the race and before the last climb they separate into 4 groups. Team worked very well and beside Manuele who won today, Kosta kept the red jersey.” And after the question what do they expect tomorrow, he answered: “We have to recover well for tomorrow and our goal is to win General Classification with Kosta,” commented after the race satisfied coach Paolo Artuso.

Today’s big winner Manuele Boaro commented after the win: “We started today fast. I went in front to protect Kanstantsin. I stayed in the wheel the whole day. In the final in the last climb when I we in the first group had the advantage of 2 min in the team we have decided after checking the situation with Kosta that I go on and try to attack.”
