July 31, 2019 - Today, Trek-Segafredo announced that Italian allrounder Jacopo Mosca, currently racing for Italian continental team D’Amico – UM Tools, will join the team from August 1st until the end of the year.
Jacopo Mosca, 25, who was a stagiaire with Trek-Segafredo in 2016, is thrilled to get the opportunity to race with the team again:
“After my first experience with the team, three years ago, I am very excited to wear the Trek-Segafredo jersey again. This is another big opportunity for me, and I will do my very best and give it my all. I am really looking forward to August and to starting this last part of the season!”
Trek-Segafredo General Manager: “We have a few riders who were injured (Alex Kirsch, Matteo Moschetti, Will Clarke) and we don’t want to jeopardize their recovery by putting too much pressure on them to come back too fast, too soon. We really want to give them enough time to return at a good level.
"We also have Markel Irizar retiring after the Clásica San Sebastián, so we decided to add an extra rider to our roster for the rest of the season. Since Jacopo was on the team as a stagiaire, we have kept him on our radar and followed his progression. He has shown to be a strong allrounder and that’s exactly what we were looking for, so we are happy to welcome him to the team again.”
