La LAMPRE-MERIDA vince anche all'Eneco Tour e lo fa con il marchio di fabbrica che ha caratterizzato tutta la stagione della squadra blu-fucsia-verde: attaccando con coraggio.
Luka Piebernik si è imposto nella 6^ frazione della breve corsa a tappe World Tour, concludendo in maniera vincente una fuga di 5 corridori che ha preceduto per 5" la rimonta del gruppo.
I sei muri caratterizzanti la 6^frazione dell'Eneco Tour, scattata da Riemst e terminata a Lanaken dopo un percorso di 197 km, hanno solleticato lo spirito battagliero di sei corridori, ovvero Pibernik, Gougeard, Haga, De Vries, Van Lerberghe e McNally, fuoriusciti dal gruppo sin dai primi chilometri di gara.
Massimo vantaggio per i fuggitivi: 4'50" al 5'° km di corsa.
Sulla Bois la Dame, strappo di 900 metri al 12,2% di pendenza, con scollinamento a 54 km dal traguardo, il plotone ha alzato decisamente il ritmo dell'inseguimento, senza però trovare la continuità necessaria per avvicinarsi decisamente ai battistrada, rimasti nel frattempo in cinque (attardato De Vries).
L'ottima armonia degli attaccanti ha avuto la meglio sull'incostanza degli inseguitori, così i cinque battistrada si sono presentati nell'ultimo chilometro con un vantaggio sufficiente per consentire loro di disputare la volata per il successo.
Pibernik ha iniziato a 250 metri un'accelerazione decisa che gli ha consentito di precedere McNally e Van Lerberghe (foto @EnecoTour).
Diciottesima vittoria stagionale per la LAMPRE-MERIDA, terzo successo in carriera per Pibernik.
"Finalmente sono riuscito a ottenere il mio primo successo World Tour, sono davvero soddisfatto - ha spiegato Pibernik - Come squadra, abbiamo impostato l'Eneco Tour su una strategia d'attacco, oggi avevo il compito di provare ad andare in fuga e sono stato in grado di entrare nell'azione giusta.
L'accordo tra noi fuggitivi è stato buono, abbiamo pensato ad andare forte e solo quando siamo entrati nel chilometro conclusivo abbiamo iniziato a ragionare in prospettiva della vittoria di tappa.
Pensavo che Gougeard fosse il corridore da battere, mi sono messo alla sua ruota, poi ai 250 metri ho deciso di partire ed è stata la scelta che mi ha consentito di vincere".
L'Eneco Tour, la cui classifica generale è ancora guidata da Dennis, verrà deciso dalla 7^frazione, una piccola classica belga con partenza da Bornem e arrivo sul Muro di Grammont a Geraardsbergen dopo 197,8 km di corsa.

LAMPRE-MERIDA won in the Eneco Tour too and they did it in the way that characterized the whole season of the blue-fuchsia-green team, which is attacking.
Luka Pibernik won the 6th stage of the Eneco Tour event, completing a long breakaway in which he pedaled together with other four riders, succeeding in avoiding the recovery of the bunch.
The six hills characterizing the 6th stage of the Eneco Tour, which started from Riemst and finished in Lanaken at the end of a 197 km course, excited six attackers (Pibernik and Gougeard, Haga, De Vries, Van Lerberghe, McNally) who escaped from the peloton in the early kilometers in the race, reaching a top advantage of 4'50" at the 50th kilometer.
On the hill of the Bois la Dame, 900 meters at 12,2% of gradient whose summit was at 54 km to the arrival, the peloton raised the pace and reduced the gap from the front of the race, however the chase was not intense and the breakaway (reduced to 5 members, De Vries was dropped) could enter in the last kilometer with an advantage large enough for sprinting for the victory.
Pibernik began his progression at -250 meters and he succeeded to precede McNally and Van Lerberghe (photo @EnecoTour), obtaining his third succeess in his career and giving to LAMPRE-MERIDA the 18th seasonal victory.
"I won my first World Tour race, I'm very satisfied - Pibernik explained - LAMPRE-MERIDA approached each stage of the Eneco Tour with a battling spirit, today it was my turn to try to join the breakaways and I succeeded in joining the right one.
The cooperation between the breakaway's members was very good, we were only focused on defending our advantage on the peloton.
Only when we entered in the final kilometer, I realized that we had the opportunity to won the stage: in my opinion, Gougeard was the strongest rider in the breakway, so I decided to begin the sprint following him, however at 250 meters to the arrival I preferrd to begin my progression and it was the winning choice".
The last and crucial stage will be a sort of little Belgian classic which will start from Bornem and will finish in Geerardsbergen (197,8 km). Dennis will start wearing the jersey as leader of the general classification.
