Carmen Small joins Bigla Pro Cycling Team
Bigla Pro Cycling Team is pleased to welcome Carmen Small to the team for the remainder of the 2015 season. Small in known for her time trial abilities and was part of the Specialized-lululemon squad that’s won the World Time Trial Championships the past two seasons.
This is a great opportunity to finish the year off strong by being able to compete in European races with one of the best teams in the world,” Small said. “I could not pass up the opportunity, the team's goals and my personal goals line up very well.”
The former US time trial champion has spent this season racing in America and has shown great form, recently winning the individual time trial in Chrono de Gatineau and runner up in the national championships. She will put the Cervélo to the test and form part of the squad that will tackle the world time trial championships later in the season.
With Cervélo on board as a partner and their P-series time trial machines, the race against the clock is one of the major focuses of the team.
“I am very excited to start working with Cervélo. They are one of the best bike manufacturers in the world and I hope they can help me find that 1% to become even better.”
Small made headlines last week when she lined up in the men’s peloton of the North Star Grand Prix.
“The experience riding with the men at NSGP was very rewarding and beneficial in many ways. At just a fitness standpoint I could not have had better training. I think I did bring some light onto women's racing and I hope I showed that we are at a very high level of racing. That said, I am more then excited to race with women again.”
Small’s first race for BPCT will be released shortly.
